The Gorman Bros. Lumby Pole Division is a pole manufacturing plant located in the vibrant Village of Lumby, BC. We are accepting applications for an Apprentice Pole Maker to join our team. The successful candidate will work in a cooperative team environment with other Pole Makers. This job is mainly in a covered outdoor area with exposure to weather changes, however, occasionally work will be outside in adverse weather conditions.

Qualifications
  • Experience operating a chainsaw with wizard attachment
  • Mathematical ability to convert from Metric to Imperial
  • Fundamental knowledge of tree species (e.g., Fir, Hemlock, Cedar, Pine) is considered an asset
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow all safe work procedures and work safely around machinery
  • Ability to perform labour intensive duties, which include lifting and pulling heavy logs
